A teen driver is facing a careless driving charge after a vehicle crashed into a Subway restaurant storefront in Exeter over the weekend.

The collision took place shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday when the 16-year-old allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike the front of a commercial building. Police reported that no injuries resulted from the crash.

Investigators say the driver held a novice licence and was accompanied by a qualified driver at the time of the incident. A charge under the Highway Traffic Act has since been laid.
