A man was hospitalized with minor injuries after a two-alarm fire broke out at an apartment building in downtown Toronto on Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters responded shortly after 1:15 p.m. to reports of smoke coming from a third-floor balcony near the intersection of Sherbourne and Dundas streets. Crews quickly brought the blaze under control and rescued one occupant.

Toronto paramedics transported the man to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The cause of the fire has not been released.
