A 34-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Ajax on Thursday afternoon.
Durham Regional Police responded to the crash at the intersection of Harwood Avenue North and Kerrison Drive East at approximately 3:45 p.m.
Investigators say a grey Honda motorcycle was travelling south on Harwood Avenue when a black Chevrolet Malibu, heading north, made a left turn and crossed into the motorcycle’s path. Witnesses told police the motorcycle was travelling at a high speed before the collision.
The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with critical injuries but later died. The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No one else was injured.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
