A 61-year-old man from Essa Township is facing multiple charges following a collision involving an e-bike and a horse and buggy in Chisholm Township near North Bay.
Ontario Provincial Police say the incident occurred on June 19 around 8 p.m. The e-bike operator was taken to hospital with injuries, while the buggy sustained minor damage and no other injuries were reported.
During the investigation, officers reported signs of alcohol impairment and requested a breath sample, which the driver refused. He has been charged with impaired driving, refusing a breath demand, and three counts of driving while prohibited.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in North Bay on July 21.
