A structure fire on MacLean Drive in Timmins led to evacuations and a temporary road closure Tuesday afternoon, though no injuries were reported.

Fire crews were called to the 200 block of MacLean Drive shortly after 12:30 p.m., prompting Timmins firefighters and police to close the area between Carlin Avenue and Lincoln Avenue while they responded.

Officials later confirmed the fire was contained to an upstairs apartment and originated in a bathroom. Four occupants were inside at the time but were able to evacuate safely. In total, five residents were displaced, and the Red Cross is assisting those affected.

Damage was described as minor, mainly from smoke, with limited spread into the ceiling area. MacLean Drive was reopened before 3:30 p.m.
