A 16-year-old Ajax boy is facing multiple charges after allegedly ramming a police cruiser with a stolen pickup truck and fleeing officers. Durham police say the incident began when officers spotted the vehicle being driven dangerously in a parking lot near Kingston and Westney roads.
After the suspect allegedly struck a police cruiser during a traffic stop, officers later located the stolen truck near Bayly Street East and Burcher Road, where the driver was arrested.
The teen has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation, flight from police, possession of stolen property over $5,000, driving while suspended, and breaching release conditions. He was held for a bail hearing.
