One Durham Regional Police constable in training has died and another remains in critical condition after a crash involving a transport truck near the Ontario Police College in Malahide Township on Tuesday morning.
Police said the recruits were travelling to a training session when their sedan collided with the truck at the intersection of College Line and Imperial Road around 11:19 a.m. The truck driver was not injured.
Ontario Provincial Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
Update – The constable in training killed in the collision have been identified as 27-year-old Tyrone Magbitang.
