A 23-year-old woman from Brantford has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle entered a pedestrian-only section of the Laurel Trail in Waterloo and struck a light pole early Wednesday morning.
The collision occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. near Bridgeport Road East and Peppler Street. Regional police responded to the scene and found the vehicle had caused significant damage to the light pole.
The driver was arrested at the location and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. She is expected to appear in court at a later date.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
