A serious two-vehicle collision in Wellesley on Friday morning left three people injured and prompted a lengthy road closure as police investigated the crash.
Waterloo Regional Police responded to the intersection of Kressler and Erbsville roads after a Toyota SUV and a Chevrolet pickup truck collided.
Investigators say the Toyota had slowed to make a left turn onto Erbsville Road when it was rear-ended by the pickup. The impact caused the Chevrolet to roll onto its side.
The pickup driver, a 52-year-old man from Wellington County, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital outside the region. His 17-year-old passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 52-year-old woman driving the Toyota, from Waterloo, was also hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The intersection of Erbsville and Kressler roads remained closed for several hours while police examined the scene. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
