Two teenage boys suffered serious injuries after a collision involving a motorized scooter and a vehicle at a Windsor intersection Tuesday afternoon.
Windsor police were called to the crash at the intersection of Seminole Street and Central Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m. on July 21. Investigators say a vehicle was turning south onto Central Avenue from Seminole Street when a motorized scooter carrying two teens entered the intersection at a high speed and collided with the vehicle.
The impact threw both riders from the scooter, sending them into a nearby light pole. They were taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting police with the investigation.
The intersection was closed for several hours while officers examined the scene before reopening at approximately 7:30 p.m. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
