A man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving a horse-drawn buggy and a pickup truck in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh early Wednesday morning.
Huron County OPP said the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Lucknow Line. The buggy operator suffered serious injuries and was flown to a London hospital for treatment. The horse pulling the buggy died at the scene.
Police said the pickup truck driver was not injured.
Following the collision, Lucknow Line was closed between Zion Road and Belfast Road while investigators examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
