A 23-year-old Orléans woman is facing multiple charges after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 417 in Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the collision near Terry Fox Drive around noon on July 23. Investigators determined the G2 driver was already under a licence suspension and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit.
She has been charged with impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, dangerous operation, two counts of driving while suspended, operating a vehicle as a novice driver with alcohol in her system, and driving with an open container of liquor.
The woman received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. She is scheduled to appear in court in September.
