A 55-year-old Guelph man is facing an impaired driving charge after allegedly crashing his moped while under the influence of alcohol late Friday night.
Guelph Police were called to the Fleming Drive and O’Connor Lane area shortly before 11 p.m. on July 31 after a witness reported seeing the rider swerving before striking a curb and falling.
When officers arrived, they found the man seated on the moped and detected a strong smell of alcohol. He was arrested and taken to the police station, where testing allegedly showed he had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.
The man has been charged with impaired driving. Police also suspended his driver’s licence for 90 days and impounded the moped for seven days.
