A 29-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit and pinned beneath a pickup truck in a grass parking area near Downsview Park following the Veld Music Festival on Friday night.
Toronto police say the collision happened at about 11:35 p.m. when a 57-year-old driver of a 2024 Dodge Ram was travelling through the parking area after the concert. Investigators allege the pedestrian was lying on the grass when the truck struck him.
The victim was freed and rushed to hospital in critical condition. Police said the driver remained at the scene, and the investigation is continuing.
Update – The 29-year-old man has succumbed to his injuries on August 2.
