Two Toronto residents have been found dead after a boating crash on Lake Rosseau in Ontario’s cottage country.

Ontario Provincial Police say the bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were recovered Saturday by an underwater search and recovery team following an overnight search.

Officers were called to the lake at about 10:40 p.m. Friday after reports of a boating collision. Investigators located a severely damaged vessel on a rock ledge but initially could not find the two occupants.

After an extensive search of the surrounding area, specialized OPP resources and recovery divers located the missing boaters. Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
