A 14-year-old cyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a pickup truck in Whitby on Wednesday night.
Durham Regional Police said the collision occurred shortly before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Garden Street and Manning Road, where the teen was riding south through a crosswalk when a pickup truck turning right hit him.
He was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 40-year-old driver remained at the scene, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to come forward.
