An 83-year-old woman has died following a wrong-way crash on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville Friday night.
Ontario Provincial Police responded around 10:10 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle travelling in the wrong direction on the QEW. Police later learned the vehicle had collided with a sedan.
Both drivers were initially believed to have minor injuries and were taken to hospital. The 83-year-old woman’s condition later worsened, and she died in hospital.
The QEW and Trafalgar Road were closed during the investigation but have since reopened. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage to come forward.
