A man has died after a fire broke out at a home in Etobicoke early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to a residence on Moynes Avenue, near The Queensway and Royal York Road, shortly after midnight. Firefighters found flames in the garage and basement and located an adult man inside the basement.
Despite being quickly removed from the home, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people were assessed by paramedics but did not require hospitalization.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation. Fire officials will also examine how the residence was being used.
