A pedestrian has died after being struck by a transport truck on Highway 404 in North York Saturday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to reports of a man walking on the highway near Finch Avenue around 6 a.m. The pedestrian was later struck in the southbound lanes.
Investigators believe the man may have been hit by additional vehicles that left the area. Police are asking drivers who travelled through the area around the time of the collision to check their vehicles for damage and contact investigators if they believe they may have been involved.
The southbound lanes at Finch Avenue were closed during the investigation but reopened shortly after 11:30 a.m. Police say foul play is not suspected, while the circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation.
