Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a serious collision involving an e-bike and an SUV in Kitchener that sent one person to hospital.

Emergency crews responded around 4:05 p.m. Friday to a crash near Victoria Street North and Margaret Avenue involving an e-bike and a Honda SUV.

The 33-year-old Kitchener man riding the e-bike was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The 34-year-old Stratford man driving the SUV was not injured.

Police closed the roadway for several hours while the collision was investigated before reopening it.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police say charges are expected. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Waterloo Regional Police.
