A 66-year-old Blind River man is facing multiple charges after a two-vehicle crash in the Township of the North Shore sent two people to hospital with serious injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the collision at Highway 17 and Highway 108 around 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police say a blue pickup truck was travelling east on Highway 17 and was attempting to turn north onto Highway 108 when it collided with a westbound grey car.
Two passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to a hospital in Elliot Lake. They were later airlifted to a Sudbury hospital by Ornge.
The pickup truck driver was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm, failing to provide a reasonable opportunity to avoid a collision while making a left turn and making an unsafe turn.
He is scheduled to appear in Blind River court on Sept. 15.
