Two men are facing charges following a collision involving a cyclist in Guelph that police say was followed by an assault.
Officers responded around 10:40 p.m. to the aftermath of a crash involving a vehicle and bicycle. The 38-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
Police say the 67-year-old Guelph driver was later confronted by a witness, a 29-year-old Georgetown man, who allegedly punched him twice in the face. The driver suffered visible swelling to his lip and cheek and later sought medical attention.
Following the investigation, the driver was charged with making an illegal turn, while the witness was charged with assault.
