An eight-vehicle collision caused significant traffic disruptions in Georgina Wednesday morning.

York Regional Police responded shortly before 9 a.m. to the area of Morton Avenue and Woodbine Avenue, where the crash resulted in a traffic light falling onto a sedan.

No serious injuries were reported. One person was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police say crews remain at the scene working to clear the vehicles and repair the damaged traffic light infrastructure. Anyone with information about the collision is being asked to contact York Regional Police.
