A Windsor man is facing impaired driving allegations after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence early Thursday.
Emergency crews were called to the 1600 block of Armanda Street shortly after 2:30 a.m., where officers found a vehicle resting on the front lawn of a home. The car had come to a stop against the property’s front steps, with the driver still inside.
Police said the 27-year-old driver displayed multiple signs of possible intoxication. He was arrested at the scene and taken to police headquarters for further testing. A breath sample allegedly showed his blood alcohol concentration was more than double the legal limit.
No one was injured, but the collision caused more than $10,000 worth of damage to the residence.
The man has been charged with impaired operation and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 mg% or higher.
