Two people were taken to hospital Thursday night after a two-alarm house fire in Scarborough.
Toronto Fire Services responded to a home on Ashridge Drive, near McCowan Road and McNicoll Avenue, shortly after 7:15 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find intense flames spreading through both the first and second floors.
Crews carried out a primary search before bringing the fire under control. Two occupants were transported to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
The cause and circumstances of the fire have not yet been determined. Fire investigators have been notified and are expected to examine the scene.
