A kayaker was rescued Friday afternoon after becoming stranded near the West Don River with a leg injury.
Toronto Fire Services responded to the area of Yonge Street and Mill Street around 1 p.m. Crews had to access the rear of a private residence to reach the stranded man.
Firefighters provided initial care, kept him warm and used a basket-and-rope system to safely bring him out of the area. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
