A 56-year-old man is in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision in Scarborough Saturday afternoon that sent five people to hospital.
Toronto police say the crash happened around 1:14 p.m. near Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue East.
Police say a 36-year-old man was driving a grey Toyota BZ4X eastbound on Sheppard when it collided with a grey Dodge Caravan. The Dodge, driven by the 56-year-old man, was turning left from a parking lot to head westbound.
The Dodge driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Toyota driver and two children who were travelling in that vehicle were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police continue to investigate what led to the collision.
