A 91-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in Hamilton Tuesday evening.
Hamilton police say the woman was walking with a walker in a bike lane near Stone Church Road East and Upper Wellington Street at around 8:30 p.m. when she was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by an 81-year-old man.
She was taken to Hamilton General Hospital in critical condition but later died from her injuries. Police have not released her identity.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been announced.
Stone Church Road East was temporarily closed in both directions while officers investigated but has since reopened. Police are appealing to witnesses and anyone with relevant video footage to come forward.
