Five people suffered serious, life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of John Wise Line and Fairview Road Thursday evening.
Ontario Provincial Police said the crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. when a pickup truck and an SUV collided before striking another SUV that was stopped at the intersection.
Five occupants of the first SUV were taken to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. Three people in the pickup truck were also hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The two occupants of the second SUV suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
John Wise Line remained closed between Sunset Road and Centennial Road, while Fairview Road was closed between Southdale Line and Fruit Ridge Line as police continue their investigation. The roads were reopened by early Friday morning.
