An 8-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga Monday evening.
Emergency crews were called to Erin Centre Boulevard near Adobe Court and Tenth Line West around 7:40 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian collision.
The child was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to a local trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition.
Police say the driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with investigators. The vehicle is believed to have been a tow truck.
A witness reported that the boy had been walking along the sidewalk with his mother before he entered the roadway and was struck. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.
No charges have been laid at this time. The roadway has since reopened as officers continue to investigate the collision.
