A fire destroyed the clubhouse at a golf course near Bayfield on Wednesday night, with no injuries reported.
Ontario Provincial Police said emergency crews were called to a structure fire near Bluewater Highway and Bayfield Road in Central Huron shortly after 8 p.m.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control, but the clubhouse at Bluewater Golf Course suffered extensive damage and was considered a total loss. Preliminary information suggests the fire may have originated near the electric golf carts stored close to the building.
The golf course and campground announced Wednesday night that the property would remain closed until further notice. Bluewater Highway and Bayfield Road were closed for several hours during the emergency response before reopening.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is expected to attend the scene as investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.
