Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating a fatal Windsor collision that followed an attempted traffic stop Sunday afternoon.
The incident began shortly after 4 p.m. near St. Luke Road and Seminole Street, where a Windsor police officer attempted to stop a pickup truck. The truck continued north on St. Luke Road at a high rate of speed before colliding with two other vehicles.
One of the vehicles, a Dodge Journey, was driven by a 33-year-old man who later died from his injuries.
The Special Investigations Unit is now investigating the circumstances surrounding the attempted stop and subsequent crash.
