A woman was seriously injured after being dragged by a vehicle at a Mississauga plaza parking lot late Sunday, following a dispute between two drivers, according to Peel police.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue West shortly before midnight after reports that a pedestrian had been struck. Paramedics transported the woman to hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Police say the woman was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in a verbal altercation between two drivers. Investigators determined she was not deliberately struck or run over, but was dragged a short distance when the vehicle began moving.
The driver left the plaza but contacted police shortly afterward. No arrests have been made, and investigators say charges could be laid as the case remains under investigation.
There are currently no road closures related to the incident.
