A major section of Huntington Road in Vaughan has been washed away after severe storms sent floodwaters rushing through the area Wednesday.
Shortly after midnight Thursday, emergency crews rescued the occupants of two tractor-trailers that plunged into the water when the roadway gave way beneath them. No injuries were reported.
York Regional Police said Huntington Road between Rutherford Road and Trade Valley Drive will remain closed indefinitely as authorities deal with the extensive damage and assess the road’s condition.
