An 18-year-old Toronto man is facing a criminal charge after a pedestrian was killed in a midtown Toronto crash Friday.
Police say the man was driving a white Nissan Pathfinder north on Bathurst Street when he lost control near Lonsmount Drive. The SUV mounted the curb and struck a 37-year-old woman who was walking along the east sidewalk.
The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died the following day.
Police identified the driver as Jacob Sanchez of Toronto. He was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death. Sanchez is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Oct. 30, 2026.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is continuing.
