Ottawa firefighters extinguished a garage fire at a home in Manotick Tuesday afternoon, with no injuries reported.
Ottawa Fire Services responded shortly after 1:15 p.m. to reports of heavy black smoke and flames coming from an attached garage on the 400 block of Lockmaster Crescent.
Firefighters arrived within minutes and found the two-car garage fully engulfed, with flames extending into the home. Heavy smoke created extremely poor visibility inside the residence.
Crews conducted two searches and confirmed that no one was inside. They also opened sections of the home’s interior and exterior to check for hidden fire and prevent further spread.
The fire was brought under control at 1:54 p.m. No injuries were reported.
An Ottawa Fire investigator has been assigned to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
