A fatal collision north of Guelph has left one driver dead and another with life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred around 12:15 p.m. Thursday at Highway 6 and Wellington Road 22 in Centre Wellington Township. Police said an SUV and another vehicle were involved, with only the drivers inside.
A 74-year-old Fergus resident driving one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, an 82-year-old Elora resident, was seriously injured and airlifted to a trauma centre for treatment.
Highway 6 in the area was expected to remain closed for several hours as police investigated the crash. The circumstances that led to the collision have not yet been determined.
The investigation is ongoing.
