The Blue Water Bridge was temporarily shut down Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer caught fire, disrupting traffic at the Canada-U.S. border for more than three hours.
Ontario Provincial Police said the fire broke out around 6 a.m. on the bridge. Lambton County OPP responded alongside firefighters from Point Edward and Port Huron.
The vehicle, described by police as a garbage truck, was damaged in the blaze. No injuries were reported.
The crossing into the United States reopened around 9:20 a.m. after emergency crews dealt with the fire and the area was cleared.
