A 19-year-old Cambridge man is facing several charges after a vehicle crashed through a fence surrounding a school property Tuesday afternoon.
Waterloo Regional Police were called around 2 p.m. after reports that a car had struck fencing along Westminster Drive South. The vehicle went through a barrier separating the sidewalk from an outdoor field before stopping near a tree.
Police charged the young driver with careless driving, driving without insurance, operating a vehicle with defective brakes and failing to surrender a driver’s licence.
One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries, although police said those injuries were unrelated to the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
