Firefighters responded to a blaze at a railway yard in Cambridge on Friday morning.
The Cambridge Fire Department was called to the Samuelson Street facility after a stack of railway ties caught fire. Crews worked to extinguish the flames while CPKC employees used specialized equipment to secure the area.
Officials said the safety work was expected to continue for several hours. There were no reported injuries or road closures, and only a small amount of smoke remained in the area.
Nearby schools were not impacted by the fire.
