Lakeshore West GO service returned to normal Friday morning after an incident near Exhibition GO caused major delays and a temporary service suspension.
GO Transit initially reported that a person may have been struck by a train west of Exhibition GO Station. Service was halted between Exhibition and Mimico GO before trains were permitted to operate at reduced speeds.
Emergency crews responded to the area shortly after 5:15 a.m., but Toronto police later said they were unable to find anyone who had been hit by a train.
Paramedics did take one person to hospital in serious condition. Officials said it had not been confirmed that the individual was struck by a train, and police indicated the person found in the area may have been involved in a separate incident.
Metrolinx said an investigation was underway, with police also examining the circumstances. Full train service resumed at about 9 a.m.
