Two people were taken to hospital after a moose was struck in a chain-reaction crash on Highway 64 in the French River area Sunday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police said the collision happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. when a passenger vehicle hit the moose on the highway. A pickup truck then crashed into the back of the vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the pickup truck driver sustained minor injuries. Both were transported to a nearby hospital.
Police closed Highway 64 for nearly five hours while officers investigated the collision and examined the scene.
