A 57-year-old Kitchener man has died after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 85 in Kitchener, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Mississauga OPP officers responded to the collision in the highway’s northbound lanes near Victoria Street North at approximately 6:50 a.m. Sunday. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the express lanes between Ottawa Street North and Wellington Street North while investigators examined the scene. The closure remained in effect until about 11:30 a.m.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
