Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a fire broke out at a home in Scarborough on Thursday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the home at 29 Horizon Crescent, near Sheppard Avenue East and Birchmount Road, at approximately 9 a.m.
Toronto Fire Services said the two occupants managed to evacuate the residence on their own before being assessed by paramedics and transported to hospital.
The fire has been extinguished, but firefighters remain at the scene using thermal imaging equipment to check for hot spots and ensure the area is safe.
