A dump truck became trapped in a large sinkhole in Toronto’s Upper Beach neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon, prompting an emergency response. No injuries were reported.
Emergency crews were called to the area near 193 Eastwood Road, west of Woodbine Avenue, at approximately 2:20 p.m.
Toronto Fire Services said the immediate public safety concerns had been addressed, with gas service cut to four homes and water service suspended at 10 others.
Crews faced a complex recovery operation, as concrete would need to be cut away to extract the vehicle without damaging underground water and gas infrastructure.
