One person has died following a serious overnight collision on Highway 10 in Mono.
Orangeville Fire Service crews responded shortly after midnight Tuesday to a two-vehicle crash. Both drivers had to be extricated from their heavily damaged vehicles.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken into the care of paramedics as a precaution.
Highway 10 was closed between 10 Sideroad and 15 Sideroad while emergency crews worked at the scene and police conducted their investigation.
Firefighters also dealt with a significant spill of gasoline, oil and antifreeze. No vehicles caught fire, and the spilled fluids were contained.
The roadway reopened around 8:20 a.m. Tuesday. The investigation remains ongoing.
