A driver was hospitalized Thursday morning after a collision involving a car and a transport truck on Highway 401 in Southwold Township.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes between Union Road and Colonel Talbot Road shortly after 7:30 a.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene, where police believe the car struck the back of the tractor-trailer.
The car’s driver suffered serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The status of anyone else involved has not been reported. The collision prompted a temporary closure of the affected section of the highway.
