A fatal crash involving three transport trucks occurred early Monday morning on Highway 401 in Clarington, near the Highway 418 interchange. At approximately 6 a.m., a tractor-trailer struck a parked truck from behind and sideswiped a third vehicle in the eastbound lanes.
The 29-year-old driver from Brampton died at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The highway was temporarily closed near Courtice Road but has since reopened, with investigators remaining on site.
