A 15-year-old boy is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle near his school in Toronto on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2:35 p.m. at Humber Boulevard and Louvain Street, in the Weston Road and Black Creek Boulevard area. Paramedics transported the teen to a trauma centre, while police confirmed the driver remained at the scene.
The collision occurred near St. Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School, where the victim is a student. In a message to families, the principal expressed concern and support for the injured teen and his family, while urging drivers to slow down and stay alert in school zones.
The school also made counselling and social work services available, particularly for students and staff who may have witnessed the incident.
