Toronto police are searching for the driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a 15-year-old boy seriously injured in North York on Thursday night. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Heathcote Avenue.

The teen was riding his e-bike northbound when a dark-coloured SUV, making a left turn, struck him and fled the scene. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage to contact traffic investigators at 416-808-1900.

Update – The vehicle involved in the collision is believed to be a dark gray Toyota RAV4, model year between 2013 and 2015. It has a missing driver-side mirror cap and is also missing the chrome moulding on the driver’s side window. Police had earlier described it as a dark-colored SUV and noted that it may be linked to the local area.
